Sparsha Darshan Not Available? What to Book Instead at Srisailam

If Sparsha Darshan tickets are not available, check in this order:

  1. Samuhika or Garbhalaya Abhishekam: you can still touch the Shiva Lingam. Held only Tuesday to Friday.
  2. ₹150 Seeghra or ₹300 Athiseeghra Darshan: normally available every day, even on festival and busy days. Darshan from a distance; you cannot touch the Lingam. Available in Mana Mitra and at the temple counters.
  3. Sarva Darshan: free, no ticket needed.

Availability is what SrisailamGuide sees locally, not an official guarantee. Check your date in Mana Mitra before travelling.

How to get the Abhishekanthar Darshan ticket when the temple website is not working?

The Abhishekanthar Darshan ticket (₹500 per person) lets up to two family members (adults, or children aged 10 or above) go with a couple who are doing Samuhika Abhishekam or Garbhalaya Abhishekam, and have Sparsha Darshan (touching the Shiva Lingam) with them.

Where it is normally booked

The Abhishekanthar Darshan ticket is normally available only on the official temple website, as an option while booking the Abhishekam. It is not offered separately.

The temple website is currently not working, so this option is not available right now.

Temporary alternative

Until the temple website works again, each accompanying family member can book a Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy Abhishekam ticket (₹500) instead. In this case one ticket is for one person only, just like the Abhishekanthar Darshan ticket.

They must go along with the devotees who have the Samuhika or Garbhalaya Abhishekam ticket. Then they can go with the Abhishekam couple and touch the Shiva Lingam.

Book it through WhatsApp Mana Mitra (9552300009): send "Hi" → Temple Services → Nandyal → Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple → Service → Seva → Pratyaksha Seva → Sri Vruddamallikarjuna Swamy Vari Abhishekam. Choose the same date as the Abhishekam, and the slot nearest to the time of your booked Abhishekam.

Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy Abhishekam slots: 5:30 AM, 6:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM and 6:00 PM.

Example: parents booked Samuhika Abhishekam at 6:00 PM (₹1,500, couple ticket), and their two children (aged 10 or above) want to go with them. Each child books a Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy Abhishekam ticket at 6:00 PM (2 × ₹500). Total ₹2,500 for 4 people.

Children below 10 years do not need a ticket to accompany their parents. Carry the child's Aadhaar card as proof of age.

Without a Samuhika or Garbhalaya Abhishekam

If you book the Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy Abhishekam ticket on its own, not along with a Samuhika or Garbhalaya Abhishekam couple, it gives the Abhishekam at the Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy temple and Alankara Darshan of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy (from a distance, without touching).

This is a temporary arrangement while the temple website is down. Please confirm the latest rules with the temple before travelling.

How long does Sparsha Darshan take at Srisailam?

Sparsha Darshan usually takes about 2 hours 30 minutes, counted from joining the Sparsha Darshan queue line until darshan is completed.

On crowded days it can take 4 to 5 hours, or sometimes even more. This usually happens:

  • during heavy crowd
  • on festival days
  • on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays

These times are approximate, based on local experience. They are not an official temple estimate, and the actual time depends on the crowd on that day.

This time is for Sparsha Darshan only. It does not tell you how long Seeghra Darshan, Athiseeghra Darshan, Abhishekam or other Sevas take.

Tip: If you are planning other things on the same day, such as sightseeing or travel, keep extra time on weekends, Mondays and festival days.

Can family members accompany parents for Abhishekam or other Sevas without taking the same Seva?

Yes. If parents have booked a Seva and their children or other family members want to accompany them, they do not necessarily need to book the same Seva. They can use the applicable darshan ticket to accompany them, subject to the allowed accompanying-person limit.

Children below 10 years: Children below 10 years of age do not need a separate ticket to accompany their parents for Abhishekam, Homam, Kalyanam, Kumkumarchana or other Sevas. They are not counted in the two additional persons. Carry the child's Aadhaar card as proof of age. Children aged 10 years or above need a ticket like any other person and are counted in the two additional persons.

For Samuhika Abhishekam or Garbhalaya Abhishekam

Samuhika Abhishekam and Garbhalaya Abhishekam are couple Sevas. One ticket is for the husband and wife together, and both can participate in the Abhishekam with that one ticket. Samuhika Abhishekam ticket: ₹1,500. Garbhalaya Abhishekam ticket: ₹5,000.

Up to two additional persons (adults, or children aged 10 or above) can accompany the couple. Each takes a ₹500 Abhishekanthar Darshan ticket (Sparsha Darshan). You get the option to book these two extra tickets while booking the Abhishekam.

For example, if parents are performing Abhishekam and their two children (aged 10 or above) want to accompany them:

  • Samuhika Abhishekam: couple ticket ₹1,500 + 2 × ₹500 = ₹2,500 for 4 people
  • Garbhalaya Abhishekam: couple ticket ₹5,000 + 2 × ₹500 = ₹6,000 for 4 people

The two additional persons do not need to perform Abhishekam. They can accompany the parents according to the applicable entry arrangement. The ₹500 ticket also permits Sparsha Darshan and touching the deity as allowed by the temple's current darshan arrangement.

A maximum of two additional persons can accompany one Abhishekam couple ticket.

For Kalyanam, Homam, Kumkumarchana and other Sevas

If the parents have booked a Seva such as Kalyanam, Homam or Kumkumarchana, up to two additional persons can accompany them by taking a ₹300 Athi Sheeghra Darshan ticket each, subject to the applicable rules.

The ₹300 ticket holders can enter and accompany the Seva participants, but they cannot participate in the Seva or perform the pooja. They need to sit or wait at the designated nearby area while the Seva participants perform the ritual.

Important: The exact entry and accompanying-person rules can change according to the temple's current arrangements. Check the latest official Srisailam Devasthanam rules before booking.

When Are Srisailam Darshan and Seva Tickets Released? How Many Days in Advance Can I Book?

There is no fixed number of days for advance booking. Srisailam darshan and seva tickets are released month by month: all tickets for a month are released around the last week of the month before.

For example, October tickets are released around the last week of September. So for 1 October you can book about one week ahead, and for 31 October about five weeks ahead.

Sparsha Darshan is sometimes released first. Sometimes Sparsha Darshan tickets are released first, and the other darshan and seva tickets about 2 days later. If Sparsha Darshan tickets for a month are already released but your seva or other darshan is not showing yet, check again after a couple of days.

Book as soon as possible after release. It is best to book as soon as possible after the tickets are released.

Once a month's tickets are released, you can book any date in that month that still has tickets, until the day itself.

This applies to Sparsha Darshan, Athi Sheeghra and Sheeghra Darshan, and Sevas such as Abhishekam, Kumkumarchana, Homam and Kalyanam. VIP / Protocol darshan is different: the recommendation letter must reach the Protocol Department at least 2 days before.
