Sparsha Darshan Not Available? What to Book Instead at Srisailam

If Sparsha Darshan tickets are not available, check in this order:

  1. Samuhika or Garbhalaya Abhishekam: you can still touch the Shiva Lingam. Held only Tuesday to Friday.
  2. ₹150 Seeghra or ₹300 Athiseeghra Darshan: normally available every day, even on festival and busy days. Darshan from a distance; you cannot touch the Lingam. Available in Mana Mitra and at the temple counters.
  3. Sarva Darshan: free, no ticket needed.

Availability is what SrisailamGuide sees locally, not an official guarantee. Check your date in Mana Mitra before travelling.

How to get the Abhishekanthar Darshan ticket when the temple website is not working?

The Abhishekanthar Darshan ticket (₹500 per person) lets up to two family members (adults, or children aged 10 or above) go with a couple who are doing Samuhika Abhishekam or Garbhalaya Abhishekam, and have Sparsha Darshan (touching the Shiva Lingam) with them.

Where it is normally booked

The Abhishekanthar Darshan ticket is normally available only on the official temple website, as an option while booking the Abhishekam. It is not offered separately.

The temple website is currently not working, so this option is not available right now.

Temporary alternative

Until the temple website works again, each accompanying family member can book a Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy Abhishekam ticket (₹500) instead. In this case one ticket is for one person only, just like the Abhishekanthar Darshan ticket.

They must go along with the devotees who have the Samuhika or Garbhalaya Abhishekam ticket. Then they can go with the Abhishekam couple and touch the Shiva Lingam.

Book it through WhatsApp Mana Mitra (9552300009): send "Hi" → Temple Services → Nandyal → Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple → Service → Seva → Pratyaksha Seva → Sri Vruddamallikarjuna Swamy Vari Abhishekam. Choose the same date as the Abhishekam, and the slot nearest to the time of your booked Abhishekam.

Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy Abhishekam slots: 5:30 AM, 6:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM and 6:00 PM.

Example: parents booked Samuhika Abhishekam at 6:00 PM (₹1,500, couple ticket), and their two children (aged 10 or above) want to go with them. Each child books a Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy Abhishekam ticket at 6:00 PM (2 × ₹500). Total ₹2,500 for 4 people.

Children below 10 years do not need a ticket to accompany their parents. Carry the child's Aadhaar card as proof of age.

Without a Samuhika or Garbhalaya Abhishekam

If you book the Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy Abhishekam ticket on its own, not along with a Samuhika or Garbhalaya Abhishekam couple, it gives the Abhishekam at the Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy temple and Alankara Darshan of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy (from a distance, without touching).

This is a temporary arrangement while the temple website is down. Please confirm the latest rules with the temple before travelling.

Is there a separate darshan entry for senior citizens at Srisailam?

Yes. Senior citizens aged 60 years and above get free darshan of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy at Srisailam. They do not need to buy any darshan ticket.

How it works

  • There is no separate gate or counter. Go to the normal ₹150 (Seeghra Darshan) queue line and ask the staff there for senior citizen entry.
  • Carry your Aadhaar card as age proof.
  • Senior citizens do not wait in the waiting complex (queue compartments) like devotees with ₹150 tickets, so their darshan is usually faster.
  • One companion can go with the senior citizen, on request.

What darshan is included

This is Seeghra Darshan (the ₹150 queue), where devotees see Mallikarjuna Swamy from a distance. Sparsha Darshan (touching the Shiva Lingam) is not included. A senior citizen who wants Sparsha Darshan must book a Sparsha Darshan ticket like any other devotee.

Not confirmed

  • Whether the companion also enters free or needs a ₹150 ticket. Please ask the staff at the queue line.
  • Whether this facility changes on festival days such as Maha Shivaratri or Karthika Masam. We do not have confirmed information either way. Please ask at the queue line on the day.
  • Wheelchair service is available at the temple, but we do not have confirmed details on where to collect it or whether there is a charge. Ask the temple staff.

Is darshan available after Homam, Kalyanam or Kunkumarchana at Srisailam?

Yes. After completing a Homam, Kalyanam, Kunkumarchana or the other sevas listed below, devotees can join the ₹150 (Seeghra Darshan) queue line and have Alankara Darshan of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy.

The same seva ticket is enough. You do not need to buy a separate ₹150 ticket.

In Alankara Darshan, devotees see Mallikarjuna Swamy from a distance and do namaskaram. Sparsha Darshan (touching the Shiva Lingam) is not included.

Sevas this applies to

  • Homams: Mrityunjaya Homam (also called Maha Mrityunjaya Homam), Rudra Homam, Chandi Homam, Sakshi Ganapathi Homam
  • Kalyanams: Leela Kalyanam, Valli Devasena Subramanya Swamy Kalyanam (see the Leela Kalyanam note below)
  • Kunkumarchana and Kunkumarchana (Prakaramandapam)
  • Sarpadosha Nivarana Puja
  • Umamaheswara Swamy Vratham
  • Veda Aseervachanam
  • Gow Puja
  • Aksharabhyasam
  • Annaprasana
  • Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy Abhishekam and Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy Bilwarchana (see the note below)

Important note for Leela Kalyanam

For Leela Kalyanam, finish your darshan before the seva. Go to the queue about 1 hour before your Leela Kalyanam time slot.

Note for Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy Abhishekam

For Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy Abhishekam, devotees usually go for Mallikarjuna Swamy darshan first and then attend the seva.

Exception (temporary): while the temple website is down, a family member who goes along with a Samuhika or Garbhalaya Abhishekam couple can use this ticket, one per person, to go with the couple and touch the Shiva Lingam. On its own, this ticket gives the Abhishekam at the Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy temple and Alankara Darshan. See: How to get the Abhishekanthar Darshan ticket when the temple website is not working?

Not covered here

  • Garbhalaya Abhishekam and Samuhika Abhishekam: in these Abhishekams, devotees touch the Shiva Lingam as part of the seva itself.
  • Udayasthamana Seva, Pradoshakala Seva and Prathahkala Seva: the darshan arrangement for these sevas is not covered on this page.

How long does Sparsha Darshan take at Srisailam?

Sparsha Darshan usually takes about 2 hours 30 minutes, counted from joining the Sparsha Darshan queue line until darshan is completed.

On crowded days it can take 4 to 5 hours, or sometimes even more. This usually happens:

  • during heavy crowd
  • on festival days
  • on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays

These times are approximate, based on local experience. They are not an official temple estimate, and the actual time depends on the crowd on that day.

This time is for Sparsha Darshan only. It does not tell you how long Seeghra Darshan, Athiseeghra Darshan, Abhishekam or other Sevas take.

Tip: If you are planning other things on the same day, such as sightseeing or travel, keep extra time on weekends, Mondays and festival days.

Mobile Phones, Bags and Footwear at Srisailam Temple – Where to Keep Them

Mobile phones: Mobile phones are not allowed inside Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple. Deposit your phone at the Srisailam Devasthanam cloak room / mobile deposit counter before joining the queue, and keep the token safely to collect it after darshan.

Where is the cloak room? The cloak room and mobile deposit counter are opposite the main queue line. The footwear stand is at the same place.

Cloak room charges (approximate):

  • Mobile phone: about ₹10 per phone
  • Small bag: about ₹10
  • Big bag: about ₹25

Charges may change; pay the amount shown at the counter.

Bags: Big bags and luggage are not allowed inside the temple. Deposit them at the cloak room.

Small purse / handbag: A small purse or ladies' handbag carrying essentials is allowed inside, for example drinking water, milk or food for a baby, or food needed for a health condition such as diabetes.

Footwear: Leave footwear at the footwear stand opposite the main queue line. SrisailamGuide does not have confirmed information on whether the footwear stand charges a fee.

Temple rules can change; follow the instructions of temple staff at the entrance.

Mana Mitra Shows the Same Time Twice (7:30 AM – 7:30 AM) – What Does It Mean?

If Mana Mitra shows a slot with the same time twice, for example 7:30 AM – 7:30 AM, it means the darshan or seva starts at 7:30 AM. Mana Mitra shows only the start time for that slot; no end time is given.

This is how the slot is displayed. It is not a problem with your booking, and it does not mean the slot has no time. Choose it as the 7:30 AM slot and plan to reach the temple before that time.

The same applies to any time shown twice, such as 12:30 PM – 12:30 PM or 9:00 PM – 9:00 PM: the darshan or seva starts at that time.

Rudrabhishekam at Srisailam – Which Abhishekam Can I Book?

There is no seva named "Rudrabhishekam" in the Srisailam booking list. If you want to do an Abhishekam to Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy (the Jyotirlinga) in the main temple, only these two Abhishekam sevas are available:

  • Samuhika Abhishekam (group Abhishekam): ₹1,500. One ticket is for one person or a husband and wife.
  • Garbhalaya Abhishekam (Abhishekam inside the Garbhalayam): ₹5,000. One ticket is for one person or a husband and wife.

In both, devotees personally pour water and touch the Shiva Lingam.

Mantras: SrisailamGuide does not have confirmed information about which mantras are recited during these Abhishekams, including whether Rudram is recited.

How to book: Abhishekam tickets are booked online only, through WhatsApp Mana Mitra (9552300009): Temple Services → Nandyal → Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple → Service → Seva → Pratyaksha Seva. Abhishekam tickets are not issued at the offline counters.

Other sevas with similar names:

  • Rudra Homam (₹1,500, 7:00 AM) is a Homam, not an Abhishekam.
  • Sri Vruddamallikarjuna Swamy Vari Abhishekam (₹500) is an Abhishekam to Sri Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy, not to the main Jyotirlinga.

Can I Book 2 Abhishekam Tickets Using the Same Mobile Number and Different Aadhaar cards? ?

Yes, you can try booking the second Abhishekam ticket using the same WhatsApp mobile number with a different devotee name and Aadhaar number.

First, complete the booking of one ticket. After the first booking is completed, try booking the second ticket using the same WhatsApp number with the second devotee's name and Aadhaar number.

Mana Mitra may currently apply booking limits based on the mobile number and Aadhaar number. The exact limit for Garbhalaya Abhishekam is not confirmed.

If Mana Mitra allows the second booking, you can continue with the booking normally.

If you receive a "Something Went Wrong" message while trying to book the second ticket, the mobile number may have reached its booking limit. In that situation, the practical option is to try again using another WhatsApp mobile number and the respective devotee's Aadhaar details.

Important: Booking limits can change, so follow the instructions and limits shown by Mana Mitra during the current booking process.
