4.5) Pind Daan (Ancestral Rites)
A sacred ritual performed for departed ancestors to help their souls attain salvation (moksha), break the cycle of rebirth, and receive their blessings. Performing Pind Daan at powerful Teertha Sthalas (pilgrimage sites) is considered far more effective than performing it elsewhere.
Srisailam is especially auspicious for Pind Daan because it is a rare holy place where a Jyotirlinga, a Shakti Peeth, and the sacred Krishna River are present together. This combination greatly amplifies the spiritual merit (punya) of the ritual, making offerings to ancestors highly beneficial. Performing Pind Daan at a sacred site can also compensate for any Pitru Doshas or missed annual Shraddha ceremonies due to various reasons.

For information related to ancestral rituals, you may ask a local guide for further help (not connected with temple administration): View Local Guide Information .
